I am not a great javascript programmer but I have a great reference book and haven't had any problem looking up and executing whatever javascript I needed, when I needed it.

The big missing piece right now in my javaScript portfolio is AJAX, which became popular right after I started doing swing programming almost exclusively in 2005. Have been to a couple presentations on same at local users groups and doesn't appear to be too big a step but haven't needed it on the job yet.
